Plain-language summary: We collect only what we need to ship your artifacts and communicate with you. We never sell your data. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see your card number. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

1. Overview

Club Israel (“we,” “us,” or “our”), operated by Sam Besser from Jerusalem, Israel, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit club-israel.com or subscribe to Club Israel, how we use it, and your rights.

By using the Club Israel website or service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

2. What We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Name — used to address your shipment and account.
  • Email address — used for subscription communications and order confirmations.
  • Shipping address — used to deliver your monthly artifacts.
  • Subscription preferences — your chosen tier, interest categories, and billing period.
  • Messages — if you contact us by email, we retain that correspondence.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data — pages visited, time on site, referring URL, via Google Analytics 4.
  • Device information — browser type, operating system, screen size (anonymized).
  • IP address — collected by GA4 and Netlify; anonymized.

What we do NOT collect

  • Payment card numbers, CVVs, or bank details — these go directly to Stripe and are never seen or stored by us.
  • Sensitive personal data such as government IDs, biometric data, or health information.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

  • Fulfill and ship your monthly subscription.
  • Communicate with you about your subscription (confirmations, shipping notices, account updates).
  • Respond to your inquiries and support requests.
  • Send Club Israel newsletters or promotional emails — only with your consent; you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Analyze anonymized usage patterns to improve the website and service.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Sharing & Disclosure

We never sell your personal data. We share your information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Shipping providers — your name and address are shared with postal carriers (USPS, Royal Mail, Canada Post, Australia Post) solely to deliver your package.
  • Stripe — your email address is passed to Stripe to pre-fill the checkout form. Stripe handles all payment processing.
  • Netlify — our hosting provider receives form submission data. Netlify’s privacy policy applies to their processing.
  • Google Analytics — anonymized usage data is shared with Google.
  • Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law or court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Club Israel or others.

5. Stripe & Payment Processing

All payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. Club Israel never receives, sees, or stores your card number, expiration date, or CVV. When you click “Continue to secure checkout,” you are directed to Stripe’s hosted payment page, subject to Stripe’s Privacy Policy. Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified.

6. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our website. GA4 collects anonymized data including pages viewed, session duration, device type, and approximate geographic region. IP addresses are anonymized by default.

You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

7. Cookies

Club Israel uses a small number of cookies:

  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid, _ga_*) — used for analytics. Expire after 1–2 years.
  • Session cookies — set when you log into the member portal; expire when you close your browser.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party retargeting cookies. Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies; doing so may affect member portal functionality.

8. Email Communications

By subscribing, you consent to receiving transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping notices, billing receipts, account updates). These are necessary and cannot be opted out of while your subscription is active.

We may also send newsletters or announcements about new tiers, artifacts, or features. You can opt out at any time by clicking “Unsubscribe” in any email or by contacting sam@club-israel.com.

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward to handle outstanding issues or comply with legal obligations.

If you cancel and request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records retained up to 7 years for tax purposes).

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to processing your data for marketing purposes.

To exercise any of these rights, email sam@club-israel.com. We will respond within 30 days. EEA and UK subscribers have additional rights under GDPR and UK GDPR. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption on all pages, PCI-DSS certified payment processing via Stripe, and restricted access to subscriber data. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure. If you believe your data has been compromised, contact us immediately.

12. Children’s Privacy

Club Israel is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

13. International Data Transfers

Club Israel is operated from Israel. If you are located in the EEA, UK, or other regions with data protection laws, your information may be transferred to and processed in Israel and the United States. Israel is recognized by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email before they take effect. The current version is always available at club-israel.com/privacy.html.
